Maureen Russell (Director) has a very passionate and energetic style of teaching, and knows that many of her students learn in different ways. She takes a very individualized approach with each young actor. Maureen’s experience includes four years, lead singer for Holland America Cruise Line, 12 years performing and teaching in New York, and Singing Program Director for kids at Applause New York. Maureen built her own voice lesson business and has been privately coaching students for the past 16 years. CKP is proud to have Maureen on staff!

Evan Troutt (Assistant Director) joined CKP in 2021 and has loved every second! Evan has been teaching musical theatre for the past 10 years, including instructing at the Musical Theatre Academy, Top Hat 8 Repertory, and several local elementary schools as well as teaching private voice and piano. He is so grateful to have found such a positive home to teach where the kids experience is always put first.

Lauren Cole (Assistant Director) is a CKP alumni now proud to be on staff! Lauren has lifelong dance experience as well as receiving her theatre education from Creative Kids Playhouse. Lauren is looking forward to teaching the Mainstage students this summer in Pinocchio!

An overall stress-free program

My daughter always wanted to be in a play. She is bright, outgoing, loves to sing and has put on skits with the neighbor kids since she was five, it’s just the way she plays. Being in Creative Kids Playhouse productions is her dream come true. She loves every minute of every rehearsal and production. She’s sad at every final curtain because the show is over. She has discovered her passion, I love seeing her constantly working on her part and seeking ways to improve- she doesn’t put that much energy into anything else! Her improvement in her performance ability over time is remarkable. She has made many wonderful friends who I’m certain will be important to her for years to come. I love that CKP structures programs so that kids can be kids, with reasonable expectations of the child and family. The script choices, vocal ranges of songs, and time commitments requirements make it an overall stress-free program. And I love that CKP nurtures her passion!
