Parent Information

Participating in musical theater is a gift you have given your child that will pay dividends for life.  Not only will they have wonderful memories to last a lifetime from this musical, but they will have improved skills in singing, dancing, communicating, memorization, and teamwork.  Be it pitching their start-up idea to investors, leading a business meeting, toasting at a friend’s wedding, standing up for their own children at a PTA meeting, or continuing to participate in theater, your child will be able to present themselves more confidently.

In addition, participation helps with schoolwork. A UCLA study of 25,000 students shows that Theatre Arts improves all academic performance. Standardized test scores increase 65 points on the verbal component, and even 35 points on math and science.

We at Creative Kids Playhouse Children’s Theatre of Orange County commend you on this excellent parenting decision!

What our community is saying about us…

A transformation had occurred

In fifth grade my outgoing, sweet son was floundering. He was being bullied at school, and struggling with his confidence in and out of the classroom. That fall he was in his first musical, and was in another in the spring. By the time sixth grade began I realized what a transformation had occurred. He began to walk taller, stand up for himself and be content being himself. His grades came up, possibly because he spoke up to his teachers when he needed help. The bullying ended. He has a nice group of friends, many of whom he met through Creative Kids Playhouse. He is now in eighth grade, succeeding in school and beginning to move toward other interests. The impact theater has had on his life is tremendous. I’m so happy for him, I know that he is equipped to be who he wants to be in life.
